Mohamed Al-Mady is the Vice-Chairman and CEO of SABIC, the largest listed company in the Middle East and the world’s biggest chemical maker.

Under his stewardship SABIC has grown from a six person workforce in 1976 to one that employs 31,000 with a market capitalization in excess of $30bn. From the start, he vowed to “create a corporate environment which inspires innovation and talent” at SABIC. The focus of his management has been around dedicated investment in local partnerships, combined with quality research and technology programs.

In July 2007, he was recognized as an Honorary Fellow of the London Business School for his commitment to job creation in communities where SABIC operates, as well as a beacon for learning and promoting teamwork and innovative research through the creation of the SABIC Academy.

In 2009, Al-Mady was named the world’s third most influential person in the global chemicals industry by London-based industry magazine, ICIS Chemical Business.
